Young Advocate Campaign
-It was agreed upon by those in attendance that our chapter try and tie into the ACLU-IL’s “Young Advocates” Campaign in order to aid recruitment. This includes adopting their logo on some of our literature, their name in some of our events, and promotion of some of their events.

Video Essay Contest
-It was agreed upon by those in attendance that our chapter should host a Video Essay Contest using YouTube. Miles said he would create an account for us to use and figure out the tech logistics for uploading, etc…
-The essay prompt is “What should the next White House do to defend civil liberties?” Submissions can be in pretty much any format as long as it is audio/visual. For example, participants can write an essay and then read it into a camera. We also welcoming skits, performance art, and animated shorts. Though it wasn’t brought up in the meeting, I think we should limit the videos to 1 minute.
- Winners will receive a one year membership to the ACLU paid for by the ACLU of IL and an Apple Store giftcard for $100 or less paid for by us.

Whew… That took a lot of time and really tested my patience but I think it is good for now. Everyone be sure to test all available features for me like the web calendar, doodle links and bulletin board feature. The site still requires some tweaking and it’ll get done just not right now… Now, now I sleep or go do homework.

Okay, all we need now is to format the YouTube page and set up a facebook account. I have asked Norman/Matt to do an email blast announcing our groups new site. Anyone willing to design adverts for the chronicle and handbills, etc… ?
